Still here...

I admit that sometimes it's hard to find a sense of urgency in posting here when anyone who comes across this blog probably follows the TrekLit forum at TrekBBS and similar places and is on top of things. So everyone already knows about IDW doing Star Trek comics next year, and the Mere Anarchy TOS anniversary ebook event starting, and Voyages of Imagination and Ships of the Line making this one of those good old-fashioned end-of-year book-buying seasons with great nonfiction books to buy, and also for the first time in a long time there's a new video game with a guide book coming out, and there have been two issues already of the new Star Trek magazine, and an early release of the final Rihannsu novel as an ebook, and there are more TOS script books out, Titan's reprints of the DC Trek comics keep on coming, and... well, you already know all that. Oh, and I hear there may be another Star Trek movie.

Anyway, coming soon, a review of Voyages of Imagination. And more stuff.

Meanwhile, the Complete Starfleet Library website has been updated a bit. I've added the seventy or so Pocket Star Trek original ebooks (SCE, Mere Anarchy, and a couple of others) to the site. I've had the feeling for some time that, despite the site's focus on dead tree stuff, it's wrong to ignore the ebooks, and I've done something about it.

Not that long ago, there was a malaise in Trek fandom, when Nemesis bombed at the box office and Enterprise was canceled and the Pocket cut back its release schedule and Star Trek Communicator died. I didn't buy in, because I knew the books were as good as ever (at least) and obviously Trek would be back. Well, the last few months of the 40th anniversary have provided nothing but good news. Whether my intention to get back to doing this more regularly is good news is up to you.

I admit, I was hung up on format at the expense of content. No longer. SCE is just too big and too good to be slighted any longer, and with the expansion of ebooks into new territory with Mere Anarchy... so much for my Dead Tree Society membership card.
